Langendorf opens new plant in Poland

On 1st of November, our new production site Langendorf Polska, founded on 1 July, was officially put into operation. At the new site in Wieluń, in the immediate vicinity of our parent company Wielton, smart-line semi-low loaders for payloads of up to 47 t and components for vehicles of the Langendorf Group are now produced. The production of heavy low loader semitrailers for higher loads will remain at our main plant in Waltrop.

The new production site became necessary because we as the Langendorf Group are facing a new growth phase and a significant increase in capacity is planned. However, as the planned construction of the new plant in Waltrop is still in the approval phase, it should already be possible to fall back on a corresponding capacity cushion now and also to secure capacities during the move.

At present, the space available in Waltrop limits the ever-increasing demand for low loaders with the tipper man. In addition, the new location will also serve as a manufacturing site for other components of the Langendorf Group. This will allow us, as a traditional company, to significantly expand our capacities, because at the new location vehicles and components will be produced in series standard - with a corresponding positive impact on delivery times.

"Our location in Poland complements our production capacities and offers us the opportunity to supplement our low loaders programme with a complete range of standard vehicles in addition to the sophisticated five- and multi-axle vehicles" says Dr. Klaus P. Strautmann, who also heads Langendorf Polska as Managing Director.

"With the new location, we are supplementing our manufacturing capacities and making it possible for us to produce even more components in-house in the future. The essential engineering services will remain in Waltrop, although we are very happy that we have been able to bring very skilled and well-trained employees into our team in Poland as well, which is a really positive addition to the Langendorf team. In addition, we can fall back on the KTL painting in our parent plant, which puts us light years ahead," says Dr Strautmann.
The new plant has a size of 10,000 m² and has 68 employees since the start of production. Already, in addition to the production of components for our Waltrop site, the production of 8-10 semi-trailers per month is planned and is to be significantly expanded in the coming year with further additions to the Langendorf production programme.

"We are very much looking forward to the commissioning of the new site" says Dr Strautmann. "The capacity this frees up for heavy low loaders production in Waltrop, the concentration on a sub-segment of our low loaders know-how at one location and the relief for the employees at the main plant due to the additional colleagues in Wieluń helps everyone a lot. All in all, Langendorf Polska means a win-win situation for Langendorf and, of course, also for our customers, because delivery times will be shorter as a result," sums up the managing director of the two plants.
