Development of the aluminium half pipe tipper

Langendorf delivers 40 aluminium troughs of the new series to France

After intensive development work, Langendorf introduces the new SKA-HS series and already delivers 40 vehicles to a French customer. The new series impresses with more volume, higher stability and less wear on the body.

Langendorf is one of the most established tipper manufacturers in Germany and has a great deal of know-how in the development and production of tipper trailers. In addition to the best-known tippers, the steel half-pipe and the aluminium box tippers, the aluminium half-pipe is becoming more and more popular.

Based on the experience gained in the construction of steel half-pipe tippers, the entire design of the body has been revised and optimised. "Due to the revised design, the body widens and thus more volume can be loaded without having to compromise on stability," explains Ralf Bockelmann, technical manager at Langendorf. Changes were also made to the upper frame, side walls and floor unit in order to concentrate the wear area on the floor and achieve more stability in the walls. This means that deformation of the side wall can be practically ruled out when loaded.

The new series has also already found its first customer. The first 40 vehicles were delivered exclusively to a long-standing customer in the construction industry in France. For this order, some of Langendorf's numerous configuration options were also used. Among other things, an additional plastic lining was bolted inside the skip to improve the slipping behaviour of the bulk material and to prevent abrasion of the floor plate. Other options chosen included a tyre refilling system and an automatic sliding roof.

The aluminium tippers can be optimally adapted to individual requirements with options from the extensive Langendorf range and additionally fulfil Langendorf's top maxim: robust vehicles with a long service life ensure investment security and low life cycle costs.
